Do you remember in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (the one with the time travel skit toward the end), where Harry and his friends are saved by some elusive figure who summons a patronus and saves them from certain doom?
And then do you remember how, later on, Harry realizes:
Oh shit, that was me earlier! That's me! I have to go save this guy now!
He didn't use exactly those words but that was certainly the sentiment.
At some point, all of us that are looking for something, anything to happen - to get that next raise, to land the next job, to write that book - are going to encounter this moment for ourselves. You, too, will hit this moment if you haven't already. When you realize that it's you - you're the one that has to make that happen. You're the only one that can step out there and make that change you want to see.
That's what growth feels like and it's liberating.
